Voted the Lifesaving Heroes.
Voted the
Lifesaving Heroes in the “Everyday Heroes” recognition program launched by
the Gallia County Chapter of the American Red Cross are, from left, Gallia
County sheriff’s deputies Kevin Werry and Scott Darst, State Highway Patrol
Trooper Nicholas Hoffman and Lt. Brett Saxon of the Gallipolis Volunteer
Fire Department. They were chosen for their roles in rescuing two
individuals from a burning apartment last January.

Information Sought in Sexual
Battery Case.
On May 22,
2009 Gallia County Sheriff’s Detectives arrested Robert H. Erwin. Erwin age
66 of Gallipolis, was charged with two counts of sexual battery. The
charges stem from an investigation conducted by the Sheriff’s Office after a
complaint was filed that alleged the incidents of sexual battery occurred

Buckeye Sheriff's
Communication Truck Stops in Gallia County.
During a recent joint meeting of the Lions, Rotary and
Kiwanis clubs held May 19, 2009 at O.O. McIntyre Park the Buckeye State
Sheriff's Association Communication truck was on display for the public.

Sobriety Check Point Successful.
On Saturday May 23rd
and Sunday May 24th 2009 the Gallipolis Police Department
conducted two separate sobriety checkpoints.

Electronic Fingerprinting will only be conducted on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays from 10:00 A.M.
to 3:00 P.M. the fees for these will be $35.00 for BCI&I and $85.00 for an F.B.I. webcheck.
