FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Advisory Update Date: January 29, 2009 Time: 5:00 P.M. "Advisory Update"
After consulting with the Gallia County EMA Director and the Gallia Co. Engineers Office, Gallia County Sheriff Joe Browning has continued the Level II Snow Advisory for Gallia County. County road crew are in the process of clearing downed trees and opening sections of county roads that are currently ice and snow covered. Sections of Morgan, Huntington, Perry, Guyan, Greenfield and Raccoon twp still have residents without electricity. Several county and township roads are water covered creating additional traffic hazards. The Red Cross has established a shelter for those without electricity needing help. The shelter is at the Gallia county senior center on State Rt. 160 near Gallipolis.
Level II Alert means: Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads are also icy. Only those who feel it is necessary to drive should be out on the roadways. Contact your employer to see if you should report to work.
