Gallia County Sheriff Warns of PONZI Schemes

The Gallia County Sheriff’s Office has received reports of two separate fraudulent

advertisements that victim’s had won non-existent prizes and cash.  County residents

are urged to thoroughly review postal mailings and email and be vigilant in only responding

to companies that they have done business with in the past.  In both instances, the

fraudulent advertisements were received by individuals that had not solicited them. 

Gallia County Sheriff, Joseph R Browning warns citizens to be cautious when responding

to any unsolicited mail or email contacts wanting people to exchange funds in a manner that

may not be consistent with normal business practices.

These are variations of an old scheme commonly known as Ponzi.
