FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Burglary Investigation leads to pursuit & Arrest

Gallipolis - Deputies were notified on October 15, 2009 of several residential burglaries in the Morgan Township area. Description of the vehicle was a white four door car believed to be a General Motors product. Deputies initiated investigation and a suspect from Jackson County, Ohio had been seen on one of the roads where a burglary occurred. Deputies made inquiry to Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputies who advised that the suspect was already on probation and they would attempt to locate him. A pursuit of the individual was initiated by the Oak Hill Police Department and Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputies in the area of the Village of Oak Hill, Jackson County, Ohio. The pursuit culminated in Rio Grande, Ohio on US 35 with the apprehension of two suspects; one male, one female. An inventory of the vehicle revealed several items taken from the residential burglaries and a shotgun taken from a burglary at a residence on SR 850 that had not been reported at that time. Investigators responded and interviewed both individuals who are now lodged in the Gallia County Jail pending arraignments this AM. Jack R Spiers, age 38, Oak Hill, Ohio and Jessica K Duncan, age 32, Oak Hill, Ohio were arrested and charged with burglary and complicity to burglary. Both were on probation with local courts. Gallia County Sheriff Joe Browning commends the efforts of the area law enforcement officers involved in this incident.
