Followup Investigation

Sheriff Matt Champlin announced that the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with the Major Crimes Task Force executed a second search warrant at a residence on Cooper Road in Gallia County.  The execution of the warrant resulted in the seizure of $10,000 in cash.

“Once our guys sink their teeth in, they will not let go” said Sheriff Champlin.  Champlin commended the work of the citizens of Gallia County, investigators, task force and The Gallia County Prosecutors Office for their efforts.  “The seizure of this money is because all of our agencies worked this case relentlessly following every lead and tip.  I meant what I said; the citizens of Southeastern Ohio and the Tri-State Area are sick of the drug problem and we have heard their cries for help ,” commented Champlin.

The Major Crimes Task Force of Gallia-Meigs is a state task force under the jurisdiction the Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission which is part of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, the task force was formed in September 2013.
