Stolen Blasting Caps Found During Search Warrant

Addison Twp. – Gallia County Sheriff’s Deputies working with Federal Agents (BATF)
searched two mobile homes on Addison Pike near Oliver Road, yesterday evening.

  Authorities recovered “blasting caps” believed to have been stolen from a construction site
in South East Ohio or West Virginia. 

  Although items were recovered the joint investigation is continuing with the possibility
of criminal charges being filed in the near future. The Sheriff’s Office is not able to
release further details at this time.

Deputies Serve Search Warrant, Seize Drugs.

Gallipolis - Deputies of the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office, along with officers of the Gallipolis
Police Department, served a search warrant at a hotel room of the Regency Inn on SR 7,
Gallipolis. Deputies seized oxycontin, roxicet, percocet and marijuana, along with $1089 cash
believed to be the proceeds of drug trafficking.  Click here for more.

Gallipolis - Sheriff Joe Browning announced that deputies have arrested a suspect in a murder

investigation that began late Friday 02-12-10. Sheriff's Detectives with the assistance from the

Ohio BCI crime scene agents have arrested Kansas D. Grube, for the murder of her two month

old infant, Jaxson T. Grube, and is being held in the Gallia County Jail. Click here for more.

Federal, State, and Local Law Enforcement Agencies Join Forces to Protect our Communities

Gallipolis and Pomeroy, Ohio  – The United States Marshals Service in the Southern District of
Ohio, the State of Ohio Adult Parole Authority, the State of Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification
and Investigation (BCI) and the men and women of the  Gallia County and Meigs County Sheriff’s Offices conducted a joint law enforcement effort to verify the residency of local sex offenders in

Work Release Center to Open in February

The Gallia County Work Release Center is an alternative to jail. Those persons
who have been convicted of minor criminal offenses may petition the court to
serve their sentence at this facility. This allows the resident to continue to
work without losing his employment. Click here for more info.

New fees Go into effect October 17, 2009
