Sheriff’s Office Lawman of the Year Award Nomination
Please accept this nomination for the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office Lawman of the year award. I have had the pleasure of working the past 20 years with the best law enforcement officers in our area from each agency represented. However, this individual has shown a true concern for Gallia County and its citizens. We put a lot of thought into this nomination and would like to name SGT. CHRIS GILL as the Nominee for the Sheriff’s Office for the Gallia County Lawman Award.
This deputy has shown the height of responsibility and decision making in everyday operations of the sheriff’s office. Chris started as a part time dispatcher with the Gallia county 911 center and has since been employed as a deputy with Gallia County. Specializing in crash investigation Chris teaches in the basic peace officer program at Buckeye Hills Career Center and other police training schools in SE Ohio.
Sgt. Gill was involved in a large crack cocaine seizure on SR 141 while working with the Ohio Highway Patrol. Sgt. Gill has been assigned as a representative to the Ohio BCI Meth Lab Investigations Technician. Sgt. Gill has attained a high level of training in the field of Meth lab and Drug investigation cases. The total cash seizures for his prior year to date include a $147,000 dollar seizure and an $11,000 illegal hallucinogenic mushroom seizure.
Sgt. Gill has overseen the implementation of a wireless internet project so that our deputies could have access to OHLEG and criminal checks while in remote areas of the county using county school sites as wireless hubs. I feel that Sgt. Gill will be a fine representation of law enforcement
Sincerely, Joe Browning Gallia County Sheriff
