  •  The Gallia County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division provides law enforcement services to an estimated 32,567 residents of Gallia County and five villages; Vinton, Rio Grande, Cheshire, Crown City and Centerville.

 

  •  This Division patrols the unincorporated areas of Gallia County comprised of over 445 square miles containing over 1000 miles of state, county, and township roads in 15 townships within the county.

 

  •  The Patrol Division deputies are assigned to one of two shifts and are primary responders to calls for services.  They remain the backbone of the office.  This division comprises the majority of all sworn personnel.

 

  •  Some of the functions assigned to the Patrol Division include the investigation of criminal offenses, crime prevention, traffic enforcement, and service of warrants and civil process.

 

  •  The road patrol division of the Gallia County Sheriff's Office has a supervisor, 8 full-time and 4 part-time deputies. 

 

  •  The division personnel patrol approximately ½ million miles each year, and write nearly 4000 reports annually.
