-April 3rd, 2017-

Sheriff Matt Champlin announced that on April 3, 2017, Deputies from the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office and the Major Crimes Task Force of Gallia-Meigs Counties served a search warrant at a residence located at 2201 Bulaville Pike in Gallia County.

As a result of the search warrant, two individuals were taken into custody.  Arrested was Deshawn Leonard Kelley, age 21, of Columbus on charges of Trafficking in Narcotics and Engaging in a Pattern of Corrupt Activity and Carol Sue Reynolds, age 58, of Gallipolis on a charge of Permitting Drug Abuse; all charges are considered felonies in the State of Ohio.

“Both of these individuals were booked into the Gallia County Jail where they deserve to be.  My message has been clear to the users, clean up your act and seek help.  My message has been crystal clear to the dealers, pack up and move out or go to jail,” Champlin commented.

The Major Crimes Task Force of Gallia-Meigs Counties is a state task force under the jurisdiction the Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission which is part of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, the task force was formed in September 2013. The task force is formed by the Gallia and Meigs County Sheriff’s Offices, Gallipolis and Middleport Police Departments and the Gallia and Meigs County Prosecutor Offices.
