Victim Information and Notification
Everyday
| Gallia County crime
victims now have a way to access information about their perpetrators 24
hours a day, seven days a week, and all they have to do is make a phone
call.
Gallia County is now on-line with VINE, or Victim
Information and Notification Everyday, which provides offender
information over the telephone and allows victims to be notified when
that offender is released or transferred. |
| Here's how VINE
works: |
- For inmate information, call 1-800-770-0192.
- Be prepared to provide the offender's name
or inmate number.
- VINE monitors inmate court case status
through a computer connection with the prosecutor's on-site records
system.
- When an inmate has a change in status, the
call center will automatically begin to call all registered victims.
Notification calls continue every half-hour for 24 hours or until the
victim enters a Personal Identification Number (or PIN) to indicate a
successful notification.
- VINE will leave a message on an answering
machine, but will continue to call every two hours until the 24-hour
period is over.
- When completed, the service will
electronically link all Ohio's county courts, county jails, state
prison, and juvenile facilities to the VINE National Call Center in
Louisville, KY..
